Senior Data Center Engineer

As a Senior Data Center Engineer, you will play a crucial role in design, implementation, and maintenance and optimization of our datacenter infrastructure. You will work closely with the Tech lead, provide support to Junior DataCenter Engineers, and proactively generate tasks based on maintenance best practices to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our organization's critical IT systems. 

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, install, configure, maintain, and optimize server, storage, datacenter equipment, and systems architecture to meet performance and capacity requirements.

• Monitor and analyze datacenter resources, including power, cooling, storage, and computing, to forecast future needs, ensure optimal utilization, and diagnose and resolve technical issues.

• Documentation procedures and services.
• Overseeing and performing security-related tasks, including leading vulnerability assessments and ensuring the implementation of security best practices.
• Designing and maintaining data backup and recovery solutions, including regular backups, testing data restoration procedures, and designing and testing disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers, share your expertise, contribute to their professional development, and collaborate with other IT teams to offer support and contribute to projects related to datacenter infrastructure.
• Actively engage in learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to datacenter technologies.
• Provide technical support to end-users and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinating hardware procurement and preparing the LOM (List of Materials).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge equivalent to relevant certifications ( CCNA, MCSE, VCAP, Storage+ , LPIC2 ) is a requirement.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of storage and virtualization.
• Proficient in data center environments, including power, cooling, and passive equipment.

• Comprehensive expertise and understanding of server hardware (HPE), storage systems (HPE, EMC), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and VMware virtualization technologies (vSAN, NSX, VDI , vSphere).

• Experienced with design, installation and configuration of backup solutions, archiving solutions and related devices (Veeam Backup and Backup Exec are preferred).
• In-depth expertise with monitoring tools such as VeeamONE and vRealize Operations (vROps).
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts and protocols. 
• Comprehensive experience with storage devices and SAN Storage Fabric.
• Developing automation opportunities in related fields.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid cloud architectures. 
• Expertise in hardware procurement and preparing the LOM (List of Materials).
• Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field of DataCenter engineering.
• Strong attention to detail when performing tasks and following procedures.
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team and across other teams.
• Availability for On-Call Rotation.
