DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to own and maintain our internal systems, servers, and deployment pipelines. You’ll ensure that our entire self-hosted environment — including Git, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, CI/CD, and all company infrastructure — runs securely and reliably.
You’ll play a key role in scaling our engineering operations and keeping our systems fast, automated, and dependable.

Responsibilities
Server & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain, secure, and optimize all company servers (on-premise, VPS, and cloud).
- Manage user access, backups, uptime monitoring, and overall performance.
- Handle provisioning, scaling, and system troubleshooting.

DevOps & Automation
- Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).
- Automate deployments and infrastructure tasks using scripts and IaC tools.
- Standardize and document deployment workflows across projects.

System Administration
- Operate and maintain self-hosted tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, Mattermost).
- Handle updates, migrations, and integration between internal systems.
- Monitor logs and incidents — ensure proactive problem detection and resolution.

Security & Networking
- Configure and maintain network security, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Manage reverse proxies (Nginx), SSL certificates, and DNS setups.
- Enforce access control and data protection best practices.

Collaboration & Documentation
- Work directly with the CTO and engineering teams to align infrastructure goals.
- Create clear documentation for systems, automation, and recovery processes.
- Support developers in CI/CD and environment-related issues.

Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, System Administrator, or
- Infrastructure Engineer.
- Proven expertise managing Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, or similar).
- Solid understanding of Docker, Nginx, and Git-based workflows.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and access management.
- LPIC certification (Level 1 or higher) or equivalent demonstrated Linux expertise.
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Hetzner, or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
- Passion for improving developer productivity through automation.
